The Annual Ashura Procession Australia

The Annual Ashura Procession Australia is held every year in Sydney to remember Imam Hussain (p) and perpetuate his message of peace, freedom, justice, and human unity.

Over Two Decades of Peaceful Unity

Since 2004, community members from across New South Wales and Australia have assembled peacefully in the Sydney CBD. Bringing people together to remember Imam Hussain’s sacrifice fulfills his great vision of breaking societal barriers and supporting the oppressed.

Our Mission

Aims of the Procession

The procession is guided by four clear objectives that define our public assembly.

01

Reflect the Legacy of Imam Hussain

To announce and reflect upon the eternal moral legacy of Imam Hussain (p) — standing unshakeably for justice, human dignity, and moral integrity.

02

Promote World Peace & Harmony

To champion the universal message of peace, tolerance, and harmony for all citizens across Australia and globally.

03

Unite Diverse Communities

To unite people from all regions, cultures, languages, and ethnic backgrounds under the shared banner of universal human brotherhood.

04

Reject All Acts of Extremism & Terror

To stand united in unequivocally condemning and rejecting terrorism, extremism, and violence in Australia and across the globe.
